Demographics
Prince George has a relatively young population, with a median age of 36.5 compared to the provincial median age of 40.8. The younger age of the population is reflected in a higher participation rate – 74.6% in Prince George compared to 65.5% in BC (Labour Force Survey, 2010).

Education
Prince George is home to the main campuses of the College of New Caledonia, the University of Northern BC and a variety of other educational and training facilities.
The level of educational attainment among the city's population has increased steadily over past decades, strongly reflecting a high quality of educational infrastructure and a diverse and skilled labour force to support activity in all sectors.
